About

Ryan Archer was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Purdue University, where he photographed productions for the Elliot Hall of Music and graduated with a BA in photography and in film and video studies.

Archer works professionally as an architectural & interior design photographer, image retoucher, videographer & editor, and as a fine art photographer. Previously a zoo keeper, he continues to work with the Saint Louis Zoo, photographing events, and as a volunteer photographer, capturing images of their animals.

Spurred on by his passions for photography, adventure, archaeology, nature, and ecotourism, Archer has traveled around the world, camera in hand, capturing images of its beauty. Having bushwhacked through the rain forests of the Amazon basin, the plains of the Serengeti, the deserts of Egypt, and the archipelago of the Galapagos, he is accustomed to shooting in various kinds of environments and terrain.
